The EXTEND system is protected by a patent, a utility model and an industrial design. Its defining feature is that the beams are assembled without welding, so installation is neither toxic nor hazardous. This makes it suitable for strengthening, rehabilitating or repairing residential buildings while they are still occupied.
EXTEND is the only structural strengthening system that has held a Factory Production Control certificate since 2014, with CE marking under EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011. This marking is mandatory for structural metal components in Europe under Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011.
EXTEND beams and supports have also been tested at the Materials Laboratory of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and by the Applus+ certification group.
