EXTEND beams are made up of two or three rectangular sectional profile and introducing the smaller section into the larger section. Together they form a highly rigid telescopic beam.
The system consists in replacing damaged functional joists by placing Extend aluminum beams, under the same or bordering them laterally. They are able to ensure the stability of the joist in case of total loss of resistance of the affected beam. The physical replacement of the beam can be carried out if the conditions of the building permit.
Beam of three and two sections
The key feature of the system is the EXTEND beam. It is formed by two or three aluminum profiles with rectangular faces of variable thickness. The smaller section profiles are inserted into one another telescopically, forming a very rigid beam.
Extend system does not consider, for the purposes of calculation, the input of the affected joist or the possible resistance of the joists of the repaired beams.
